Aging processes in Fragile X gene premutation carriers

Who can participate: Ages 45 and up, with or without the Fragile X gene premutation.

A multigenerational family is mostly looking at the camera, with the youngest child looking distracted to the side.

Study summary: We are interested in understanding behavioral and brain differences associated with aging in individuals who carry the premutation of the Fragile X gene. Study volunteers will be asked to complete cognitive, behavioral, motor, and clinical testing, and a study MRI to measure brain structure and activity.

Time commitment: Testing will take 7-11 hours spread over 2 visits. Participants will be asked to return after 2 years for a follow-up.

Compensation: Participants will be compensated for their time.
