Brain-Body Communication in Autism


Who can participate: People ages 5-45, with or without an autism diagnosis.

Study summary: This study seeks to increase understanding of how the brain responds to sensing the body (i.e., touch, heartbeat, stomach). The goal is to better understand sensory processing and brain function across a wide range of people, including adults, children, and individuals with autism, developmental, and cognitive differences. Participants will complete behavioral testing, questionnaires, sensory tests, a brain scan, and sessions in which electrodes record signals from the brain, heart, and stomach.

Time commitment: 5 to 15 hours across several visits. 

Compensation: Participants will be compensated for their time.
